Lauren could not imagine that, when she turned around from gazing at that lake view, the man of her dreams would be waiting down on one knee to make her the happiest girl in the world asking the best question of every time: will you marry me?

I received an email from Joshua on an autumn afternoon. Together with his girlfriend, Lauren, he was planning the trip of their dreams, in Italy, and he decided to surprise her with a marriage proposal during that vacation. She suggested the idea of a photo shoot on Lake Como and she did not have to repeat it twice as he contacted me to organize this moment of pure emotion.

Joshua loved how I incorporate scenery and greenery into framing the pictures, so he asked me to recommend an iconic place, with a spectacular view and a refined architecture. He was looking for that classic timeless look that catches the emotion of the moment while yet maintaining that sense of serenity.

Among my suggestions, he fell in love with the gardens of Villa Carlotta, in Tremezzina, which combine the view of the lake and mountains with valuable architectural elements such as the impressive staircase, the fountain at the entrance and the labyrinths of hedges. We exchanged few emails to decide what was the best place and time and we worked out a plan that gave us the perfect result.

I asked Lauren to stay on the terrace and to relax gazing at the lake view, so I could take pictures of her alone. At that moment Joshua went down on one knee, I asked Lauren to turn around and … the photos will tell the rest better. Incredible emotions, even for me, with two cameras in hand and the heart beating like crazy.
