Vineyards that run endlessly like a caress on the hills, villages and castles, picturesque streets that meander through the green in spring and red in fall … how wonderful is the Monferrato region. A small church surrounded by vineyards, an ancient villa immersed in the countryside, a breathtaking sunset, an unforgettable party. The autumn wedding of Ornella and Tomislav, characterized by a mix of cultures, had been amazing. And effortlessly chic.
The couple spent a year planning their dream marriage, imagining a relaxed atmosphere, a touching celebration and a fun party. I joined them for the preparations at the Relais Sant’Uffizio, the location where the whole event took place, and I found them in their rooms, together with the bridesmaids and groomsmen. I absolutely like to photograph these moments: the laughters with friends, the final touches to the make-up, the carefully executed gestures to tie the dress, the small details designed for a long time, like the invitations or the bouquet.
I like to photograph all this telling the story of the day in its slightest nuances, sometimes made up of small details, like a friend’s hands resting on the bride’s shoulders in a gesture of familiarity, sometimes made up of intense looks, like the parents’ one, right after the exchange of the vows.
Every detail during this destination wedding in Italy was all about love and care. About the desire to bring together families and friends from all over Europe, like a big family sitting around a table listening to old stories and wishes for new adventures.
