Pihla and Mika are a Finnish couple that tied the knot in August in Helsinki and then planned a honeymoon all around Northern Italy to visit the most ancient and typical towns. They first went to Verona, then to Lake Como and finally ended up with one of the most romantic Italian venues, Orta San Giulio, that is a medieval village on the shores of a small lake surrounded by mountains. Since they are deeply in love with Italian art and architecture they decided to set a photo shooting here, just something natural and romantic to cherish forever.
My studio is based really close to Orta San Giulio so I’m used to photograph here many weddings, engagements and proposals, but each time I surprise myself discovering new perspectives and corners around the narrow lanes and the promenade by the lake. I think that this village is pure magic because its antique appeal has been preserved over the years so everywhere you could find fresco painted buildings with stone roofs overlooking the small isle in the middle of the lake, little churches on the top of steep staircases and tiny lanes with the tracks of the coaches that went through in the past.
The session was planned during the first half of August and the weather was really hot, so we decided to schedule the meeting in the late afternoon starting in the shadow of the tiny streets to finish during the golden hour on the wooden pier with such a magic light.
I loved working with Pihla and Mika because they were so deeply in love, so tender one to the other. I liked their sweet gazes, their hand touches and their laughters. While walking and shooting they told me something about their story and I thought that I am a really luck person always dealing with love!

We had a photo session with Marta Guenzi on our honeymoon in Italy. It was such a perfect experience and I wouldn’t change a thing! Marta speaks fluent English which is a big advantage for foreigners. The only minus that I can name is that the pictures were so good that it was very hard to choose…But this is of course a very positive problem! I can fully recommend Marta’s services!
