Rachel and Ajay planned their vacation to Italy for a long time and they decided to have some photos taken while there to commemorate their recent engagement.
Rachel is a bit of an amateur photographer herself and she was excited to have some professional photos of them together from their travel that were not just pictures she has taken of Ajay. She loved the light, airy and natural look of my photos and she was looking for a lifestyle type of photo shoot (vs. strict posed photos) that showed the true Italian style. She sent me a Pinterest board with some inspirations she has put together and I prepared a few itineraries combining the charme of an old Tuscan town and the countryside with a spectacular view of the rolling hills.
They were literally spoiled for choice as in Tuscany there is plenty of lovely villages and fantastic views on the open country, and they eventually decided to go for a 2 hours sunrise photo shoot in the countryside at the Vitaleta Chapel followed by a walk down the cobblestone streets and walls of Pienza.
When I went in Pienza to scout the locations, I immediately fell in love with the tiny doors (that were the perfect backdrop for some candid yet posed kind of shots!) and with the incredible amount of flowers that somebody takes loving care of every day.
Before leaving the USA Rachel styled their outfits with the utmost care and chose for her a long flowered dress paired with a straw hat and for Ajay a pair of brown trousers with a pale blue shirt that matched perfectly with the Tuscan colours.
This engagement session reminded me of the atmosphere of Under the Tuscan Sun, the movie with the fabulous Diane Lane. And what about the light? We had an incredible sunrise!
